I dont know weather to say hello or sigh with releif. First an apology the cat is helping me type this and I may not get all the typos.
After 50 years of knowing I have now admitted to myself that I am a hedge witch.
On the way home I wondered how, and I know my mother wasnt a witch but I beleive my grandmother who bought me up was a hedge witch. She showed me many things in nature that have shaped my life. She showed me how to keep bees, grow plants, respect the countryside and its animals and mother earth as a whole. While others went to church my grandmother taught me that the earht, elements and the wildlife are the only holy trinity that we needed.
now I just dont know why it took me so long to admit it to myself.
I would like to chat with others regarding healing, growing, becoming more at one with wild animals. I can give instructions in healing creams, lotions and potions, beekeeping, growing, caring for goats, sheep, ducks, chicknes and orchard making and care.
If there are any other witches that ride motorbikes I would like to talk.

Hello Ferntree, congratulations, I hope you feel happy and together. Do you sell honey or wax from your bees?

Glad you found this site Ferntree. Your grandmother, it seems, was indeed a wise one. I love that she saw the holy trinity in nature. Do you live in a very rural area? If so, now that you've opened your mind and heart to the natural forces, you may find that the wild animals will come to you. And even if you live in the city, you will probably become more aware of the birds and those little tenacious weeds that grow through the cracks in the concrete. Let it happen naturally. Let it flow. There is a wonderful books called "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews, a Native American who explains what animal totems are and their spiritual aspects. It might help you in your search for a connection with our wild friends. I'm sure you can find it on Amazon.
I too work with herbs, salves, etc. I live in the Rocky Mountains where there are many helpful plant allies; mullein, juniper, yarrow, etc. Also, because of this terrible global warming, the insects are quite confused. A few weeks ago a little honey bee flew onto my leg (unusual this time of year to say the least). Luckily I had a piece of honey granola, put it on my leg and watched the little cutie indulge himself. They are such beautiful creatures and I have a natural hive here on my land (a hollowed out tree) that I visit occasionally). They have never stung me. I truly think they know who I am and know of my love and resect for them.
Peace and joy to you.

Hi sorry for the long absence, but the good weather saw me in the garden and farming.
Yes, I sell beeswax but not in blocks I make it all into candles or lotions and potions. Honey, two bad years have most of my stocks taken I need a really good year to get some honey for myself.
I do live very remotely by myself in a valley in South Sligo, Ireland. My farm boundaries are a river and a stream and I am blessed with many wild animals and birds which seem to revel in my mixed farm and garden which they treat like a supermarket, but its worth it when you open the kitchen door to find an otter rooting through the cabbage patch to see if there is anything of interest for breakfast, they have not bothered my poultry so far.
I would love to hear more about your lives.

Hello Ferntree,
I know how you felt when you said you didn't know if you should sigh with relief. It was really quite a moment for me when I realised there was actually a name for what I've doing all these years.
I too have chickens (i love my girls) and am working at the smallholding dream. Unfortunately we're living on someone elses farm at the moment, however, your farm sounds lovely. I'm really interested in healing through herbs and would love to rack your brains soon!
Oh, and I'm the proud rider of a gs500 (I'm rather small so need a wee bike so I can reach the floor!)
