I especially remember one assembly where Mrs Ogle came out from behind a curtain revving up a motorcycle. She could laugh at herself, which taught me not to take myself so seriously. She also posted an inspirational message or thought for the day to make you think before class. |

I remember that...it was a kick off for some sale contest. My fave was Jinx Wright. I was lucky enought to have had her for art all three years at Central and then at HHS. I need to get back into painting...right now I'm doing Scotties made fromantique fabrics. |

I haven't yet decided on my favorite, but one of my favorites was Mr. Hamilton - balderdash, you lunkheads! I had him for Astronomy and for Physics. I would never have made it through my college math and science courses if not for his prodding tutelage. http://www.clt.astate.edu/shorner Just my course website and CV (yawn!) |

Very few will remember John Otterpohl, but he taught International Relations, and I ahd him form American History in my Junior year. Back then, I was not a very diligent student, and it was only after I had him that I had appreciated the learning opportunity I'd let slip by. He was unique in his intelligence and wit and caring for others. I re-took American History the following year under another very fine teacher, Mrs. Turney. But I felt bad about having wasted an opportunity to learn from a man like Mr. Otterpohl, who saw History not merely as dates and events, but as Cause and Effect. |
