My name is Gary McKee,EExpo87@aol.com I'm 57 and I've just discovered powder coating. I do a lot of small stuff with spray paint
Bicycles, (have 9 grand kids and 3 son-in-laws) small Harley parts for my 2, and 4 foreign bikes, for my son-in-laws.
repair misc. small generators & compressors and other tools. Make dozens of small and large mechanical & animated
displays for my yard for Christmas decorations. 12' Ferris wheels. 4 Reindeer rideable Merry-go-round, dozens.
(won the best of the best for my county 3 years running)
My problem is Trying to find a good powder coat gun! I've read lots of info on powder coating. have even done it
3-4 times with results that look good in the dark :-) was using a $59.00 dollar Harbor Freight gun.
I've been trying to find one in the $700-1000.00 price range.
I've seen the Eastwood Hot coat gun, looks like a white Harbor freight model. Seen the Small model Sears makes for a $100.00
or $59.00 if you buy one of the 50-60 they got, thats refurbished. Seen a NEW model from Columbia Coatings INC.
The Hyper Smooth Pony System. Its Per them, Harbor Freight gun W/ an upgraded 30-50 KV adjustable power box built
by them, (instead of Harbor Freights 16KV fixed)for $189.00. they told me to wait a month because they were gonna put
together some other models.
From Powderbuythepound.com has one called the "POWDER COATING GUN HYPER SMOOTH SYSTEM" (sorry they had all caps)
It looked like a nice gun for $400.00 - 450.00, but I'm learning like computers its not what they look like but whats on the INSIDE.
I Seen a COLO Model ZJ-500 H.D. Powder Coating Machine Gun Set for $999.00 that seems like a nice one 0-100KV

its @ this URL : ( http://cgi.ebay.com/H-D-Powder-Coating-Machine-Gun-Set-test-500-New_W0QQitemZ350260192130QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item518d226382 ) if you want to look.

Any way I would NEVER hold anyone responsible for recommending a good powder coat gun. I just don't want to spend a thousand dollars or a little more for a piece of garbage, or someones else's REBUILT Harbor Freight gun. I feel LUCKY to have stumbled upon this forum.
and I would feel twice as fortunate if someone here had the time to help me here.
Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated. EEXPO87@aol.com
