Newsflash!!! Richard Strange opens a new Soho Cabaret club 25 years after his Cabaret Futura took London’s nightlife by storm, (it featured the first performances by acts as diverse as The Pogues, Depeche Mode and Keith Allen) Richard Strange is once again producing and co-hosting a live cabaret and burlesque club in London’s Soho. The novelist and cabaret expert Lisa Appignanesi wrote of Cabaret Futura : “Of all the Cabarets to spring up in Britain over recent years, it is Soho's Cabaret Futura, the brain-child of Richard Strange, which bears most atmospheric resemblance to its Weimar kin. Cabaret Futura became the focus and meeting place for the energy that fed the explosion in fashion, photography, film-making and music.” Richard has now gone into partnership with Mat Whitley and Milly Sanders, whose critically-acclaimed Medium Rare cabaret has been delighting audiences in West London for the last three years. Raymondo’s, Richard’s new venture, will premiere this month, on April 26th, 27th and 28th at Too2Much, the old Raymond’s Revue Bar, in naughty Walker’s Court, Soho. The show will start at 9.45 sharp, and will feature truly amazing live acts, short films and music. The lovely Minnie Weisz, enchanting sister of actress Rachel, will be among the acts on these opening three nights, singing some songs. To make your evening perfect, we have even arranged with three of London’s top members clubs, The Groucho, Century and Union, all within a five-minute walk of Raymondo’s, to provide a pre-show dinner for our guests who pre-book, mentioning Medium Rare Dinners, at a special rate of £18.50 for two courses! I hope you will come along to one of these first shows and see for yourself how great live cabaret can be.
