When I was a teen, I discovered that I had grip strength exceeding even every high school jock, except one really huge guy. This was even though I was only 150 pounds at the time. (I grew up on a farm and milked cows.) I used the spring scale in the gym. A home style scale will work, but you have to shim it with paperback books or something to make it thick enough for best grip. When I was 150 lb, I could do 220 lp squeeze. Now that I'm old and weigh about 220 lb (fat), I can still do 190. This should give you goals to work with. A guy should be able to squeeze his weight. A woman should do HALF her weight. (My wife, at 130 lb could squeeze 125 lb, almost her weight, a record for women!)
