ive just started training about 5 days ago and im using a multi gym that my dad has in the garage. im just wandering if there is any supplements that i could take that would boost my muscle mass. i am just interested in beafing myself up. i am only 117, will this make a difference??
jeff posted 9/25/04 3:35 PM
hey budy yea i would say u should buy some wieght gianer you can get it at most health food stores and its safe! also try eating every 3 hours! you have to eat alot! and eat things that are high in protine your 117 so you should be geting atleast 117g of protine a day of more! protine is the key to gaining muscle also it helps to know what you are doing when you work out. i know alot of my friends think they know what they are doing in the gym but i havent seen them gain an inch since they have been working out. u should try to read up on gaining wieght and size go to web sites and read up on wieght gianing and working out thats what i did and it helped me.

If you want to take supplements...well the first and most important thing is a good protein powder...get one that has more then 1 protein in it, there are some that have fast and slow release proteins in them, they are best. Creatine is also another good supplement. Other then that make sure eat as soon as you finish training because when you go and work out the first thing your muscles do is eat each other so you need to fuel yourself with protein so they can get bigger. if your really serious about gaining muscle then you should eat about 6 meals a day, low carbs high protein. The best foods for a bodybuilder are: Steak, Eggs, Chicken, Fish: Tuna. Any fresh Meat or Poultry products are best. The only other thing then that to tell you is anyone who is serious about something will research it themselves & learn all the theory, Goodluck.

Take a weight gainer of course, but make sure you eat often, high protein and high carbs, as well as healthy fats such as flaxseed oil. Also try bromelain. Take a pill before every meal (It's the enzyme in pineapple, that's why Lee Haney used to eat so much pineapple) its cheap too. a good website is bodybuilding.com, although if any of the workouts or dites sound extreme they are usually meant for people on steroids. Good luck man, "no pain no gain"

Hey Matt your 6'2" huh. That's my height, I
started lifting weights when I was 16, now 23,
started at a bodyweight of 125lbs, now am
195lbs, thats 7 years of training an average of
10 lbs a year for a guy with a fast metabolism.
You want to know the secret to gaining
weight...It takes a long time, so EAT
EVERYTHING. At a height of 6'2" you have to
eat well over 5000 calories a day, also it
sounds like you have a fast metabolism, like
myself. My advice is to be lazy, eat and get
your regular training in. Remember the more
you move, the more calories you burn. So what
if you gain a little fat, while you get bigger, in
the end, you can diet and look a lot better. So,
eat and eat lots. One other thing, do not do
cardio, or you'll just have to eat more.

i here people like jeff advise training every day and it makes me laugh! training is simply the stimulus we use to force the body to make an adaptation, that adaptation occurs in the rest periods between workouts 24hrs is not sufficient for any hardtraining individual who isn't taking performance enhancing drugs. The best advice for putting on weight would be to eat and eat lots, forget supplements, train to momentary muscular fatigue (when you can no longer perform a repetition in strict form)limit your exercises to 1 per bodypart and limit your sets to 1 per exercise -intensity of effort drives physical adaptation not duration of effort, if you train hard you can't train long (you could sprint for 100metres but you couldn't sprint for miles,if duration of exercise was the key stimulus long distance runners would have huge legs not sprinters).Let your strength be your guide with your training-every time you train you should be stronger than you were before if not adaptation hasn't taken place, rest more and train only once or twice a week.study the writing of arthur jones, doug Mcguff, drew baye, ken hutchins etc ignore people who state they've been training for years and know what theyre talking about-intelligence isn't measured in time -people can be stupid all theyre lives, and if they use such statements to back up what they say they usually are, question everything!

The freaky big program can be bought from http://www.freakygrowth.com/muscles.html. In my opinion, you don't need to follow some special program to get big. Getting big is a simple process, just damn hard work. You don't need to take special suplaments, not even protein powder. Eat plenty of wholesome foods, fresh fruit and veg. Eat plenty of eggs and take desiccated liver tablets (these are like a natural steroid). Train hard, rest at least 8 hours a night. If you were interested in buying any books, the only thing i would recommend are the books by Pavel which can be purchased on www.dragondoor.com. Go to the strength tab and see what he has to offer. The only other book i would recommend is Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle by Tom Venuto. It can be purchased on http://www.burnthefat.com/ as Pavel does not discuss diet. I fully recommend that you look at these two sights before considering purchasing any other books.
I could rant and rave for hours, but i better leave it at that tonight. Hope this helps.

I've seen his picture, and didn't see anything impressive on it. I don't mean to disrespect him, but my 3 year old son has more muscle. I would not waste my money on that so call system.

_SHAKEDOWN_ posted 7/2/07 2:59 PM
Here's a little SHAKEDOWN on the whole "Freaky Big Naturally" system:
When you first arrive at the sales letter page you are “invited” to enter your name and email address. A few emails will follow, each to urge you to download for “fr.ee” a series of interviews.
The author of the “system” and the person, being interviewed is the Canadian natural bodybuilder Wade McNutt. In these interviews he talks about a breakthrough in the natural bodybuilding that he has discovered.
In short, these talks are designed to lure you to buy his program, for which you pay $97. What you get for almost a hundred bucks is a binder, four CD’s, and several single-sheet reports.
One of the reports (as far as I remember) was about how to gain 25lb by starving yourself for several months and then eating over 10,000! Cal a day for nine days!!
Another had recipes for protein shakes with hemp protein and enzyme formula, which the author distributes. There were a couple more sheets that I don’t even remember for what they were.
The CD’s were supposed to be four – two in a case, two cases. When finally mailed to me, I got four CD’s but they were the same pair twice.
I emailed the author (I should say “authors” because Wade has a partner – a kinesiologist) he replied that I need to mail back the extra CD’s and when they get them they will mail me the other pair that I didn’t have.
Well, I mailed them and now, after almost a year and a few reminder-emails I still haven’t gotten the ones I don’t have.
The ones that I got though were worth listening. They were inspirational. And how could it be different – Wade is a great sales person. And the job of a sales person is to get you excited, to make you act on emotions.
The binder I would divide in two parts. Part one – basic information on bodybuilding techniques and nutrition, intermingled with motivational talk.
Par two consists of four 4-week “foundation” training routines, designed to “prime” your body for the real “Freaky Big Naturally System”.
At the end of the binder it becomes obvious that you have to become a member of another web site of theirs – the “Freaky Insider Club” - where you will be couched, or you will find the “secret” routine (I’m still not sure which of the two).
As far as I remember the membership for this web site was between $150-200 a year.
In the meantime you will be bombarded with emails, urging you to purchase (FROM THEM) your “share” of the “newest and almost sold out” batch of hemp protein or digestive enzymes. Another series of emails will still prompt you to become a member of the “Insider Club”
As you can guess I never became a member. The disappointment from what I got for almost a hundred dollars plus the fact that they even failed to keep their part of the deal, and send me the other pair of CD’s, were more then enough to make me run fast.

Yo, I would like to talk about this freaky big naturally program. A friend of mine bought it and he persuaded me and my other friend to join him on his muscle building quest... They train because they want to grow, I train because I want strength and later on endurance. Got kinda dissappointed when they told me that they were doing growth training rather than training that would benefit my kung fu tranining... Anyway, We've done the first month which is 4 day a week training with 3 restdays. I haven't experienced that much growth, but my friends claim that they have. I do know though that I've increased my strength somewhat cause I managed to do 19 dips after Some supersets that totally pumped my muscle. That's a miracle for me since I weigh about 95kgs, and it's far from pure muscle. Wade talks a lot about "building up your nervous system" and that part of the program is something I can believe in since we've experienced the difference already. Allthough, it could also be as simple as that we've just become stronger because of training.
Oh well, no matter, we've only done one month... I hear a lot of bad stuff about Wade, but since my friend purchased this stuff I guess I'll try it out. I'll try to update the progress on this forum.
GL to all of you bodybuilders

Hey guys,
I ahve been on the freaky growth training for more than 3 years. I have gained almost 50 pounds of muscle. I know that some of you all say it is just a bunch of bullshit advertising but the truth is that it might be bullshit advertising but once you get on the program and follow it step by step and word for word for atleast 6 months you will be amazed at how much your body changes. I NEVER TOOK ANY OF THE SUPPLEMENTS WADE SUGGESTEd FOR THE FIRST YEAR ALMOST. In that first year I gained 25 pounds.
He preaches his program and follows his own program and I know that for a fact becuase I have talked to him on the phone and been in contact with Wade the whole time. TRY THE PROGRAM AND FOLLOW IT FOR ATLEAST 3 MONTHS AND FEEL AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!

The first program of Wade Mc Nutt I bought is called "Elite Exercise Performance".
I had a look at the Freaky Big website before and thought that it looks like a scam. I does not even have an e-mail address so that you can get in touch with the people selling it before you pay for the product.
Elite Exercise Performance was only half the price of FBN an is a collection of videos and mp3 of how to perform the most common exercies. The videos all contain tipps and hints from the authors wade mcnutt and matt gallant.
You also get a pdf-workbook.
Those products are worth ever penny I paid for them.
You do get a lot of free videos on the internet of how to perform exercises but they are often of bad quality and don't include any comments.
Obviously that program is targeted more at the novice in the gym.
After I was so pleases with "Elite Exercise Performance" I also bought the FBN system.
There is a post further up the website which gives you a rough idea about all the different stuff that comes with it.
The first part of the book might be interesting for the beginner weight lifter but probably has little new information if you have already got some weight-lifting experience.
The second part is the training protocolls. They are split body part routines and did give me some decent results.
I did not add 25 pounds of muscle though.
The nutritional information is quite short and basic in the fbn system.
It tells you that you should take, hemp protein, enzymes, probiotics and some other stuff.
Compared to most other bodybuilding programs the recommended supplements here seem to be less "building mass specific" but do help your overall health.
There are one or two meal plans included. No recipes. From my point of view the program is quite dissappointing in that respect.
After that came the freaky insider club.
To sum it up: sound training routines and a private forum on the internet.
The routines were given away for free when the club closed down.
After the close-down of Freaky Insider Wade and Matt designed a program called Muscle Mastery. It was advertised as their last bodybuilding program ever. it should include everthing you ever need to know about weight-training etc.
The price of 499,00 USD plus shipping which I believe is about 100 USD for international order was a bit too high for me so that I can't comment on the quality of those products.
The package does include Elite Exercise Perfomance as well as the training routines from FBN and FI. Guess the dvds would be quite motivating.
A week ago Wade and Matt started an ever newer coaching program called "The experiment". Must be their very last weigth-lifting program as Muscle Mastery was the last one.
I feel like I am waiting for a flight, where there is alwayse, the last, the very last, the very last and final and the very last and very final boarding call.
I am wondering what the very last and very final program for Wade and Matt will be.
To sum it all up. Buying FBN these days would be a waste of money from my point of view.
100 bucks is just too high for what you get. By the way the forum that you would get access to are closed down as well. so you can only read old post and can't post new ones.
Elite Exercise Performance I can recommend to anyone who is beginng with weight training. You get a good quality product for a very reasonable price.
If you have got 500 USD spare, think about getting Muscle Mastery.
It includes five DVD. Workout programs to get youthrough the next few years. Elite Exercie Performance plus a recipe book and some other stuff.
Regards,
Chris

I agree with Chris and Stanley. I have been on the program and followed the development of it for 3 years. I take the Hemp protein and the Masszymes.
I used to go to the gym 4 days a week when I was younger, then as family life got busy, the gym got cut from my schedule. In 2000, I made a commitment to get back in the gym and get rid of the bodyfat that I was carrying around. I didnt put it on in one year, so I didnt expect to burn it all off in that same amount of time.
I tried several systems and achieved various results, but nothing that lasted because those programs were stagnant. The same routine month after month. I tried several suppliment programs, again with varying results, but everytime I cycled off a suppliment, I lost everything I gained.
When I found FBN with Wade and Matt, I said I would give it a 2 year test to see what result I could achieve. The program had different phases to help with each goal I had. As I worked through the different phases and added the suppliments in order, Hemp protein first, then Masszymes, then other natural things, I saw progress and was making steady gains where before things were minimal.
I purchased the Mastery Program in May 2007 and have had great success using that as well. I am better able to access my progress and select the part of the program that fits my goals and schedule.
I can get personal coaching as needed through email and the webchat site with Wade, Matt and their team.
The best part of the program for me is, it is not based on some conflicting magazine articles, or steroid-use. It is natural. I won't be fighting some degenerative diseases later in life caused by chemical abuses I made earlier.

The problem people have with the Freaky Big Natually system is that they don't actually apply all the principles - nutrition, recovery and training techniques. If they did, they would see amazing results as I have. I thought there was no hope for me then along came the FBN and its changed my life, inspired me and taught me A LOT of things I haven't seen anywhere else.

If anyone is on the system and is wanting Masszymes I have an unwanted order.

A way to slow down your metabolism a little is by eating big and then sleeping right away - vice versa for increasing it. Make this your habit - especially right after training low, heavy reps and you'll gain weight a bit more easily.
