Hi there My name is Cindy Bruce, my mother's maiden name is Cromb. I have a lot of history on the cromb family dating back to the early 1800's here in Australia but with some missing gaps. I am hoping that someone on here will be able to help me fill in the missing pieces. The furthest back I have gone is John Cromb, not sure of a birth date but he married Janet Davidson Morrison Forbes and they had 4 children as far as I know but I have no solid evidence that these four children were all brothers, apart from being born at roughly the same time and in the same town. John Duncan Cromb Andrew Cromb William Forbes Cromb James Forbes Cromb John Duncan Cromb married Mary Gilchrist whom I believe was born in Glasgow, she died in 1919 in Maffra, VIC, Australia. They had 7 children however I only have four names one of course, being my Great grandfather. Any info on the following names would be much appreciated. John Cromb married Janet Davidson Morrison Forbes | 4 Chldren: John Duncan Cromb b Andrew Cromb b 1858 William Forbes Cromb b James Forbes Cromb b \ John Duncan Cromb married Mary Gilchrist | 7 Children: 3 Unknown John Samuel Cromb b 1874 Mary Cromb b 1870 Jessie Matilda Cromb b 1885 Andrew J Cromb b 1873 \ John Samuel Cromb married Adelaide Elizabeth Dawson | 8 Children: Twins Jessie and Rosanna who died at 20 days old Florence Wilhemena Cromb John Duncan Forbes Cromb Keith Wentworth Cromb Andrew Ernest Cromb Robert Morrison Cromb Neil Davidson Cromb I have quite a few more names to hand out if anyone is interested but would love some help on finding out when and how the Cromb name came to Australia.
