What's the best way to psyche yourself up for training/tournaments. Personally, I favour the 'having a nap before I go' method. Only thing is, I slept so long I missed training altogether this week! Jordan swears by full sugar, full caffeine Pepsi followed by a beasting in Freestyle which leaves him too hyper to control himself in the kata class! Hannah likes to listen to loud, shouty music at full blast to get her into the 'zone'. As for Big Norm, well AFTER a session, he likes nothing more than a hot bath, two paracetamol and something cold and amber out of a bottle!

I think I would like loud shouty music for kata, but it would make me too careless in sparring coz i would just wanna kill 'em instead of win. So I think sugar high for sparring and music for kata.....but then I'm also in favour of the too knacked to care method (4 me not my students)...oh well - whatever works for you is best i suppose...helen likes to smack pads reeeally hard b4 kata...david does best if he runs through stuff a few times 1st...its whatever gets the best performance from you!! :)
