Hi, my name is Ana Catarina Boal and I'm from Portugal (and I don't speak much english). As many of you, I thought we were the only Boal family because in Portugal all Boals are my cousins or uncles. I found this site searching for the origin of the name Boal and I was very surprised for exist a mansion museum and a place with my name. I read on a website that the Boal family is descended from Christopher Colombus, who lived in Madeira - Portugal for many years and married to a portuguese woman (In Madeira there is also a wine called Boal), and I also read that Theodore Davis Boal was married to a French and Spanish woman, and a niece of the family of Christopher Colombus. Then I thought, if the name Boal is so unusual in Portugal and Spain and there are so many Boals in the USA and Colombus lived in Portugal and Theodore Davis Boal married a French and Spanish woman, maybe we (Portuguese-Spanish-Americans) are all relatives. (It's just a theory!) If possible, I'd like to know what you know about the Boals. I will be waiting anxiously for someone's answer. Thank you!! |

From what I have read, a connection certainly looks possible. I believe DNA would be the best way to confirm the theory. Engraçado, eu agora de repente kdo li a tua msg fikei a pensar, mas eu n escrevi ixto.... és d onde? tb pensavas k boal era só a familia k conheces e kdo dizes o teu apelido, tda a gente pede pa repetires? |
