Freedom Isle Properties We have properties for sale on beautiful Eleuthera, in the Bahamas. These lots are perfect for building your home in the Caribbean or for development /investment purposes, or both. About Eleuthera Only a mile wide over most of its 112 mile length, Eleuthera embodies a unique assortment of qualities. Quiet isolated communities and well-developed resorts, golfing, underwater diving, boating, fishing and farming, rock bluffs and low-lying wetlands, blue holes and caves, massive coral reefs and sweeping pink sand beaches combine to create a fascinating picture. Eleuthera was first settled in 1649 by British dissidents seeking religious freedom. However, before the settlers landed on the island itself, they ran aground on the "Devil's Backbone", an extensive shallow reef line bordering the north end of the island. The reef ripped open the bottom of their boats, leaving them to settle amongst the sharp coral heads. They called the island Eleuthera, from the Greek word "eleutheria", which means "freedom". Today the reef provides a wondrous undersea world for scuba and snorkel adventurers. Centuries later, Eleuthera is truly liberating to all who come. Eleuthera is home to three major annual sailing regattas: South Eleuthera Homecoming and Regatta in April; the All Eleuthera Regatta in Governor's Harbour held during the first week of August; and the North Eleuthera Regatta held on Discovery Day (October 12) A short ferry ride to the northwest of Eleuthera takes one to the pastel Cape Cod cottages of Spanish Wells, which was named for the galleons that once replenished their fresh water there. Harbour Island, a five minute ferry ride to the northeast of Eleuthera, boasts world-class resorts, one of the longest pink sand beaches in the entire chain of the Bahamas 700 islands and cays, and the beautiful and historic, 300-year-old Dunsmore Town, the original capital of the Bahamas. Gregory Town, set atop a cliff, is the official home of the sweet, juicy Bahamian pineapple. Hatchet Bay, just a 10 minute drive south of Gregory Town, provides boat owners with convenient docking and maintenance facilities. While Eleuthera's dramatic white limestone cliffs buffer the Atlantic Ocean's waves, her majestic white and pink beaches yield to the gentle surf. At the island's breathtaking Glass Window Bridge, aquatic wonders are mirrored in the deep blue sea of the Atlantic continental shelf on one side and the calm turquoise water of the Caribbean on the other. From every angle, Eleuthera exudes a special ethereal ambience born of both its natural and social history. Eleuthera is easy to get to, yet difficult to leave. Our Properties We have properties with lots totaling 50 acres on the Caribbean side, and the 72 acre parcel on the Atlantic side. Most of the properties are located on the Caribbean side and are ideal for both oceanfront and ocean view development. The locations of the properties are located between Glass Window Bridge and Gregory Town (north of Gregory Town. The properties are also in the area on and adjacent to a promontory called Mutton Fish Point. Atlantic Side Property In addition to the available lots on the Caribbean side, we have a 72 acre parcel, with 1200 ft. oceanfront, and 777.24 ft. on the main road. This site is ideal for Hotel, Residential, and/or Commercial development. It is adjacent to Eleuthera’s famed ‘Surfer’s Beach’. Pricing: Per acre price = $30,000 - $45,000; Prices will differ depending on whether land is Oceanside versus Oceanview. Atlantic side 72 acre parcel - $750,000 Possible Owner Financing Contact: d.cherson@verizon.net
