That aside I was wondering if anyone had any real info on the unconfirmed report that Gary Patten is suing a selection of brothers. The other message board has a thread about it with a list of the supposed defendants and I was wondering how and where Coyle was getting his information?

With the exception of Fooey who calls me every time I even think about calling him and Baffuto who will call every two weeks for a month and then take 6 months off. Jonesy	posted 8/24/05 2:05 AM       I don't believe there is anything wrong, or potentially harmful, with posting who is sueing who, and why. I believe that is all puplic information. Caution is good, but this is ridiculous. What we shouldn't be discussing is what happened that night, Crow's "policy" or behavior in regards to drinking, or naming any specific people or their actions. So, who ever knows, please just state who is sueing who and why, or at least tell us where to find this information, if you know. Thank you -Jonesy

I should have thought of this before, but I re-read The Transcript article (http://www.thetranscript.com/Stories/0,1413,103~9054~2973485,00.html) and got almost all of the super secret between us, yet very available to the rest of the world, information that I was looking for. The only thing I am still wondering about is who specifically is being sued? The names should be available if everyone involved in the suit has been notified. I believe I could just use a legal search engine to find out, but the only ones I've found so far charge a fee. Also, please don't tell me to check the Yahoo! groups messages for the names either. I went through them before I wrote this and the only post I could find that mentioned any names was the one written by Coyle. Based on his wording, it sounded like he only listed brothers that he was surprised to find out were included in the suit; not everyone involved. I suppose you could be right JR, maybe the people being sued don't want their names posted. I honestly don't see why it would bother them that much though. This case most likely is a source of worry and anger for them, but not embarrassment. It's not like they were arrested for rape or something like that. Nor would they have to worry about very many people outside the chapter seeing their names listed on this board- other than a few Slambda sisters (they love us). I don't think any Gary Patten, Shane Armstrong, or United Services Automobile Association supporters will start harassing them if their names are posted. Everyone knows this case is bullshit and I am sure every brother is, or would be, supportive to those named in the suit. I know I would like to give my support. Why do you think people would be embarrassed JR? Did someone say something to you? Well, if anyone involved doesn't want their name posted, then that is enough for me, and I will respect that. But, as a concerned brother, I would still like to know who is involved. By the way, I always leave my e-mail address when I post here. Also, there are several brothers that have my phone number. So, if everyone who knows didn't want to post the names, they still could have contacted me another way. Thank you -The Doctor

Just because you don't know a nickname doesn't mean they aren't a brother. You know Lloyd... just when I think you can't be any dumber... You turn around and do something like this... On a side note- if my nickname was "blubs" I would never admit to it. That may be the worst name i have ever heard. Besides Marc Newton of course.

Just making conversation and controversy and pissing people off BUT also trying to stand clear of all this legal talk since most people dont want to post it on the website which it should not be. This apparently is a serious forum for a fraternity chapter that no longer exists.

TO Blubby: The nickname was a shortening of the milhouse, thrilhouse, outhouse, smokehouse, etc. motif given to me by Jeremy and then adopted with a fury by Manny and the Elmwood ave. era brothers. Fuey	posted 9/4/05 5:49 PM     I will not speak about the current status of some of our dear brethren here or elsewhere. That is there business and a sad issue this is. I will only say that I feel very badly that this has become such a mega issue and is impacting so many lives. On a side note, Millhouse was right, I call him approx 2-3x a month. I have also been in contact with JR over the past month or so. Forgot the poor guy was still alive. All I will say is that I miss you all, and look forward to hanging out again. hey has anyone seen Magnus....
133	posted 9/7/05 8:23 PM       Look, I know I wasn't a brother at the time of said incident but I can say that I know how much it stayed in people's minds during my time with the Fraternity and throughout to this day. At least 2 people's lives were forever altered that day. We should respect the wishes of the brothers that were involved in the incident at that time and have an actual bearing on what happened and could be involved. This is a serious situation for the college, the former chapter, our fraternity, the brothers being sued, and Gary himself. Much of these "lawsuits" is posturing by lawyers, insurance agency, the college, and individuals while there usually is one, real lawsuit. Not seeing the Brick or Brick owner listed as a defendant surprises me but then again, they have shut down I here so they probably tried to protect themselves with that action. Sometimes people have no choice but to file a lawsuit as a way to try and protect themselves, setting up a daisy chain for things to happen. I don't know any details of the case, the suits, or the people involved. I am only speaking in general about lawsuits that I know of and have seen transpire not this specific case. If you are annoyed by my post, you are probably reading it in a way to make yourself annoyed, so try and read it again. I hope everyone is well, health is good, and jobs are bountiful. Keep it real and best of luck to anyone involved in this situation.
