She already has a big job to be a friend and companion to our daughter who has an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dogs can help break the ice socially between Jayla and her typical friends and take the... focus off our daughter's deficiencies. We are hoping as she grows older that the two may work on agility together and build confidence and a niche in the world. Now, with your help, Nina has another way she can help Jayla that we never imagined when we got her. A chance to win $500.00, $5,000.00 or even $1,000,000.00 in the Cutest Dog Contest but she needs your vote everyday to win. Why is this so important? Because many Autism treatments and therapies are not currently covered by insurance nor are the supplements she takes for her mitochondrial disorder. Schools that offer specialized education for children on the autism spectrum can cost $25,000.00 a year while funding in the public schools is being cut dramatically. Private Christian schools in general simply have not been able to fund special education programs. Winning would open new doors of treatment, therapy and education for Jayla that may help her to live a more typical life and ensure an independent future which is every parent's dream for their child.
