My Papillon is now 7 and 3/4 months old, I've had her since 5 months old and her ears had never been down before not even during teething. In the last 3 weeks or so her right ear became softer and softer and 2 days ago it started to flop down. Especially when it's windy or she runs, the tip flops over and I have no idea why. Is it too late for her to still be teething which is causing calcium levels to change? PS She's spayed so it's not pregnancy related or related to breeding season. PPS both her parents and 3 of her 4 grandparents are Can CH conformation dogs so no weak eared linage.

We have had the same problem with our male papillon. It occurred right after I got him micro chipped, then it recovered. He is now 15 months and the right ear is down almost all the time. Both his parents have upright ear, and dad is from a champion show line in Republic of Slovak.
