I have heard some people say that pigs ears are great chew toys for papillons. Does anyone know if they are safe for pap puppies?

for puppies I would recommend something labled for puppies as their stomach sometimes can't handel it. my pap loves pig ears now but used to get diarrea from them when younger

The only thing a pap should never have is rawhide. The more you can get them chew. The easier it is to not have tartar build up.

Rawhide isn't too safe, but there is a new product called Himalayan Dog Chews that my four go nuts for and they are hard and last a very long time even with vigorous chewing. I also give them beef femur bones to chew on. They can't splinter or eat those. I buy them cut into about one and a half to two inches long. (not chunks come off, only small particles that look like sand). Their little jaws get such a tremendous workout!

Pig ears and raw hides aren't that safe. They can be swallowed in big chunks and cause intestinal blockages. The best chew treats I've found are bully sticks. They are easily digestible, and there are no problems of intestinal blockage. You could also try dentastix and nylabones.
