Hello, I believe that I know the answer to this but the HD in my waveframe 1000 is making a high pitched noise. Does this mean that the drive will need to be replaced? If so how difficult is this process? Currently the drive is working but the noise is very loud. http://keyboardmuseum.og synth museum in FL |

Not sure if you're still having the problem but yes, probably an indication that the drive is going south. If it's an external drive replacement is easy. I haven't been able to successfully replace an internal drive because of termination issues. I'm on v6.01 and it recognizes 9GB drives no problem. |

Sounds like the HD scream of death. Be sure you have everything you need off that drive before it hits the fan, if you can!As far as internal drives, the SCSI on the 1000 works the same as any other SCSI, and it needs to be terminated on both ends. If your missing a terminator and can't find one at your local PC store, email me brad@waveframe.com and I'll see if we can hook you up with one. http://waveframe.com |

I'm planning on testing some compactflash drives as replacements with my Waveframe 1000 in the coming weeks. I'll post again once I've verified that they work as replacement drives. |
