Several years ago my mother-in-law gave me some old books that had been in her family for years. I put these books in my closet and forgot about them until a few days ago when one of my daughters got them down while she was looking for something. One of these books was a bible in which was written the marriage of Seneca Lyle and Nancy Lanam. Also were the births of Willie A. Lyle, Ettie Anne Lyle, Arthusa Lyle, and Pela May Lyle as well as the deaths of Ann Lyle, John A. Lyle, William W. Lanam, and Robert Lyle. I'm assuming that those listed in the births were the children of Seneca Lyle and Nancy Lanam and I've since discovered that William W. Lanam is Nancy's father which is what I thought but I have no idea who the others are or how this family connects to my mother-in-law. There is obviously a connection or why else would she have had the bible and why would it have been in her family for several years. Her name was Mildred May West Eaton Honaker. She was the daughter of John Alfred West and Lottie Gertrude Murphy. She was married to William Albert Eaton (1) and George P. Honaker(2) I give this information because there may be a connection to the Lyles in those surnames. William A. Eaton's mother was Elizabeth May Lowther who's grandmother was Nancy Swisher (I noticed there was a link to a Swisher website, which may or may not be related) Sorry to be so long but I'd really like some help connecting this family and putting people in their correct place in the Lyle family.
