Husband in pre-trial holding facility Denton County Texas probation revocation for smoking pot two times on a ten year probation. After one month, complaining of chest pain, arm pain, pain in throat, stated to infirmary he though he had another blockage. History of heart attack, angioplasty surgery. Five times to the infirmary, diagnosed with acid reflux, given tums, told to buy tums at commissary - was told that the acid reflux due to food in facility. Fifth time to infirmary, diagnosed with panic attack, collapsed in front of LVN. Died 45 minues later, cardiac arrest Denton Regional hospital. Internal investigation blamed nagging wife and inmate for not taking care of his health better and only seeking medical attention when it suited him. I have done much research since the death of my husband and can not believe what I read. The system is not the answer. We were so wrong to think he would make parole and be home in six months. This sounds so naive now, but we trusted TDJC. How wrong we were. |
