My mother's name is Kelly Garza Stelmack. She was incarcerated in Hardeman County Jail in Quanah, Texas. She was put their originally because she ran with my younger brother who was being molested by his own father. That man still roams free because he "knows people". While she was in jail, she was raped, beaten, and threatened. They allowed her to sit in her own blood from them not giving her pads when she was on her period. They kept her in solitary confinement for 148 days without a court date. They accused her of assaulting a correctional officer, which by the way, the officer said that she did not. The jailer was threatened with being fired if she did not say otherwise. Now, 5 and a half years later, they are taking her back to that God awful place for that crime. We can not afford a good lawyer and need to know what to do. I am afraid for my mother's life, as is she, if she goes back there as she knows too much. She is afraid of saying anything to anyone because of the repercutions that it might have on her if she opens her mouth about those jails. So as her daughter, I feel that it is my right to inform and attempt to get help on her behalf. Oh, by the way, she is one of very few women to ever make it out of that jail alive. Can anyone help me?
