My friend jason violated parole for forgery went back again for a forged $170.00 check and got three years he is at Price daniel unit and hass served 1.5 years how can i help him the just denied his shortway discharge? |

I could understand what you wrote.The first question you have to find out if he lost his street time while he was out on parole. If so he has to do this on top of the three year new sentence. (Ex:if his first conviction was 10 years, released after 5, he was to be on parole for 5 years, been out on the streets for 1 year before the new charges, then he has to serves rest of his parole of 4 years, more less to say, this can create the time inside to be longer) The next thing you need to know, is if he has had any major causes, issues/problems while in there this time, this could add time to his time to serve. The third thing that people need to realize, that many inmates are sittingin prison that should have been released a long long long time again, many of them have already done 300% or more of their time. This is the BIG Issue that the legislators are raising with the Pardon and Parole Board about so many Inmates that should already be out. In view of this, after you find out from your friend how much time he has to serve (He gets a time every 6 months that tells him how much time he has served, he knows what his sentence is and he knows to the day how much time he has served)When you find out this information, the Representative for the area where he is from (best if a family member will do it) or the Representative for the area where Daniel unit is, to check into the matter. Now when you do this, you have to really stay on top of them, because the majority of the Representatives do not like dealing with the Correctional Issues and Problems.Write again if you have more questions.
