Hey guys, seeing as the message on the home page was all very kimb orientated i thought I should say a few words!
First off, me leaving Polystigma has nothing to do with lack of determination, rather lack of desire to keep doing the same thing. I have started to find it stale and uninteresting and as a frontperson and songwriter of a band thats probably not the best attitude to have toward your band! I have loved every minute of Polystigma but i thought it best to end it once i stopped enjoying it rather than feeling forced to do it and resenting it while playing shows, writing songs and rehearsing with great mates. It would only drive a wedge between my two awesome friends and bandmates and myself, and between the audience and myself. Who wants to see a band that has a frontperson not enjoying themselves? It has been the hardest desicion ive had to make but im glad i made it even though i will definitely miss Polystigma. Im still writing, playing and jamming with a couple of people and will most likely start up a new band some time in the future. Ive had the pleasure to play with some awesome people during the course of the band, Kirsten who was and is an awesome girl and great friend, Kimb, who from the minute she auditioned for us i knew was the right person, and who has become an excellent friend and bandmate, Wayne who is still one of my best buds and the beautiful Clint who is one of the most supportive talented and kindest friends i have. Weird to think when i came up with the name Polystigma and decided to make it into a band, that it would have gone this far. Mostly i want to cuddle everyone who helped us along the way. I cant explain how awesome youve all been and how much youve helped and inspired us over the past 5 years. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME BEYOND WORDS! Anyway im sure ill be seeing you all soon.
Love Jaime

if you're feeling the band's getting stale but wanna get another band going then where's the point in that, what makes you feel stale is you placing the band into 1 genre, if you write and enjoy music you shouldn't let a genre stop you, i wouldn't mind seeing polystigma go metal or grunge or mellow or emo or any other rock style you can think of, sure it depends on the rest of the bands determination and love of all different music types but i'm pretty sure at least kimb is an open minded person, after your post i don't give up on the idea of polystigma stayin together, as long as you's keep it diverse
maybe i read the pst wrong, but you wanna still play music so why not just try a different direction instead of a different band?

Hi Guys,
Breaking up is the most shittest thing to happen. I have been in the same band with the same guitarist for the past 8 years. we have had 10 drummers, 1 band name change and expanded from a 3 piece to a four piece. We keep on rocking and love playing live. What im saying is that the reason why local bands break is because they feel they cannot get anywhere. Some may disagree some may agree. Im not writing to start a debate nor to critisize. I started my band when I was 17 and fuck I have to say that im 25 and we have never had commercial airplay, things are good as we are making progress. We recently launched our EP at the annandale and got 165 payers. No shit aye. not too bad for a band with no airplay. We were pleased and this made us happy because each gig gets more out there and where ever we may end up we can look back and say they were the best times of our lives, and we will never look back and say what a waste or what we could have done, or our music was shit or boring.
All im saying is breaking up is no good. Re consider what your doing to your well crafted music and fine musician ship, cause after all its what makes your band, the three of you together being together. You want a manager to get you guys there? you guys rock and im telling you all, dont throw away your band. Fuck dont. I beleive in you guys and im sure im not the only one.
Cheers
AD

The mans got a point...but still its also important to do what makes you happy. Kimb and Jaime (i'm sorry i never got to hear their new drummer play but im sure he's awesome too) are excellent musicians just by themselves. I'm sure they'll suceed at whatever they put their hearts into.
As for the band...its a damn shame.
