tactics used in our district remind me much of the holocaust. teachers ostracized, targeted and told to not speak of it after scare tactic closed door meetings are over and the big boys get your john hancock. PSD employees if you haven't joined a union, you better step up...and preferably in time to negotiate contracts.

The Union SUCKS and is not the answer. We have to get these deaf old school board members to realize the Rodo plan in killing our district. The PSD used to be the pride of JC, now we just seem to want to cater to free and reduced, instead of those who tote the note...remember this during the next city council election, hold the council members responsible, as these bozo school board members seem to do as Rodo tells them to...believe me, the teachers are ready to revolt.

What most of you do not understand alot of the rules and regulations are not the school board or supers fault it is handed down from the state and fed level. I am not saying that we dont need a new super. but know the facts before you put the blame on someone.

Well we finally seem to be making changes on the School Board, the council took a lot of heat for re-appointing last time. We need to keep pressure on the council and get a new proactive board who will insist on excellence. Congrats to the new Board Member!

Yes, but can one person really make a difference. I am refering to the board member. Hopefully his teaching experience can help shed some light for the boards decisions. Getting a new super would really help!!

After all that's happened in the last few years I had to write. Rodolfich is succeeding in destroying a great school district. The school board sees a different person than the employees see. Now the baseball boys are being punished. Johnny Olson may have deserved a repremand but did not deserve mandatory retirement. I'm not sure what the thinking is, if money is the reason he's getting rid of people (Johnny Olson is not the only one) then maybe the superintendent needs to take a cut in pay... Or is he trying to get rid of anyone that sees who he really is!

Check this one out. My child goes to Colmer and in the morning when you drop them off they make the girls go in one place and the boys in another. What the hell??? They caught a boy and girl kissing so now they have to be split up instead of punishing the two that were doing wrong they punish the whole school. This system really makes me sick and it is not getting any better. Everyone wanted a change on the school board well here is part of your change. Change with the board will not do anything you have to get the problem which is Rodolfich and his and his group. The board does not know half of what is going on. They only know what Rodolfich tells them and that is only the good things. Everything else gets covered up by him and his puppets. You want a change than the teachers need to stand up get together and go complain to the board. He can't fire a group of teachers, im sure there are not that many out there wanting to work here.

Why the heck are our kids having to go to Colmer anyway??? It's a dump in crackhead neighborhood...It should be bulldozed and one new middle school should be built on the old South Elementary site...maybe then we wouldn't have to send our kids to Resurrection.

Ya'll have no clue how bad the school district is Rodolfich is only out to make his self look good in the press and on paper he NEVER follows thru on anything he says he has no clue on how to be a true superintendent, he's a driver ed teacher and a wrestling coach who now holds a title, he has no where else he can go no one else would hire him because most superintendent have doctorate which he does not and any school district with any sense should require. Maybe now that the high school principal is leaving he could put his wife in that position then she would hold a title to.

His wife is a whole other issue, she should not be aloud to work under him (no pun intended). I know teachers personally who have had issues with this and the uncomfortable position it places them in. Does anyone know when the City Council will be doing school board interviews? They are open to the public and always entertaining!

Now that the new board member has been elected it's time to get Rodo out of the district. He is out of control. His wife needs to go with him. She is the most intimidating teacher that has ever come through the district. Not only is she intimidating to students but also to her coworkers. Everyone is too scared to say no to her because they know she'll just run home to him and then their job will be on the line. The board needs to work on a nepotism law for the district.

You had to have known something like this would be published after Rodolfich's defeat on Thursday night. This is all to make him look like the good guy. Im not saying the center is not good but he has spent citizens tax dollars making his resume look good with this building while our school that our students are being tought in are lacking alot of things that are needed. I wonder how much money we spend in a week at this building. School crews are there just about everyday working on things. Also alot of money was spent to redo they gym area with a new floor, A/C and heating and alot of painting but guess what, non of the athletic teams can use it. They have to go out on there own to find a place to practice indoors. Hell the basketball team can't even use it and that's what is was built for. When will the school complete the entrance at the stadium? They put up the arches over the gates and then just stopped and it looks like crap. Gautier has this million dollar stadium and Pascagoula go some cheap A$$ chair back seats that look and feel like they were bought at Wal-Mart. I gave up my season tickets this year because of these Cheap Seats. We have a great stadium that is falling apart and is in need of repairs but I guess Rodolfich would get in trouble if he spent any money at the stadium. When it rains you have to cover everything in the locker room to keep it from getting wet. That should be real health to our athletes. Mrs Colmer said it right Thursday night when she talked about Pre-K. Lets take care of what we have before we begin adding more to it. You just watch the Learning Center is going to empty the schools account working and keeping things up to date.

I agree Dance Mom. To buy out his contract would be around $400,000. It would be money well spent when you look at money being lost in taxes because people do not want to live in our City due to our schools. You could claim it as a gain not a loss.

Seriously? . . . Seriously??? As a 組oula grad. who left, obtained two college degrees, and returned to a wonderful town with lots of exceptional individuals that truly care about the city and its residence; all I can do is shake my head in disbelief at all the atrocious comments I see on this post. This man, Mr. Rodolfich, and his wife are real people with REAL feelings. How dare you throw them under the bus the way you have when you probably don't even truly know them. All you've done is base opinions on hear say! Until you've lived their lives and put yourself in their shoes you'll never know their reasoning for doing what they've done. I see the changes he's made for this district and it has been far exceeding any expectation I nor any of you have ever had!!! Who would have ever expected the old Annex痴 transformation into a state-of-the-art learning center full of 21st century technology and equipment that he not only provides for the school district, but promotes for community usage as well? He has genuine concern for ALL the students! He wants them to be challenged, well educated, and astonishingly prepared for not only college, but for productive lives so they値l be proud 組oula grads as myself. As for his defeat on Thursday, well . . . I doubt that! He痴 a very resilient man! We値l see how well Colmer does. However, from the looks of things I知 pretty sure you値l be cursing her efforts sooner or later too. Who knows, maybe we値l all be pleasantly surprised by the partnership they create for our students because the STUDENTS afterall are the entire basis and purpose for the Pascagoula School District. The only reason why you池e posting about Rodolfich is because he痴 a public figure and you are not. I bet you could also be criticized in some capacity or another. After all nobody is perfect and ye without sin can cast the first stone. Anybody throwing now??? I know I知 not!! Have a heart!

You must be one of his little puppets or maybe even his wife. Find one person in Pascagoula that teaches or has a child in the schools that like him other than yourself or people that he has brought he and put in position to make a good check. This sounds like Mrs. Dammen another person he has turned against the teachers. I can tell you are in his pocket because you are the only person taking up for him. You seem to be the one that has no idea what is going on. I am involved with the schools alot and see what is going on I invite you to get involved so you can see.

To all you who think that getting rid of Ro will "make everything better," you should really start looking at the facts. i"m sure most of you don't know him personally and only listen to the the word of mouth. Pascagoula's district has exceptional test scores. To the mom complaining about boys and girls being seperated, what would you rather? Your daughter being influenced and kissing someone, too? that leads to a whole lot more later. Maybe you should think about that. Some parents don't want that for your children. All of you, i assume, are adults. Why are you wasting your time writing on some blog about others? That's childish and should have been left in highschool. Time to grow up guys...

So laughter67, why are you on the board. Tests scores are not that great, just look at the last state test scores from PHS. English II scores are horrible and look who is the head of the department. Well if it isn't Mrs. Rodo herself. Please, there needs to be a change or at least accountability. Rodo has no excuse for his poor judgements and spending money foolishly.

I use to work for the school system as a teacher. All I can say is it looks good from a glimpse for a teacher just joining, but after a while the truth comes out. We had lots more technology and supplies in our classroom than any other on the Coast, but their micromanagement and iron fist is what brings down the teaching quality. Children do not need scripted curriculum. They need educated teachers who know how to make educational decisions to adjust the curriculum to meet their needs. As a teacher, the environment was hostile because they were ALWAYS working on firing this teacher or that teacher. I knew those teachers. They were VERY dedicated, but for reasons outside their hand (ending up with a class full of students who were years behind, getting limited support for severe behavioral problems that interfere with the learning environment, too many children who come from households that do not support education or proper values, 4th grade tests not accurately measuring growth because the third grade test is to watered down to use as a comparison tool, etc), these teachers were blamed and careers ruined or hurt. The district seems to not get it that changing the classroom curriculum constantly, having teachers work in fear of losing their jobs, using scripted curriculum and micromanaged pacing guides that tell teachers what lesson to teach what day are not the ways to run a successful district. There are plenty of schools on the coast with students from disadvantaged backgrounds that have more limited technology and less supplies that manage to maintain 5 star status. However, if you look closely at these schools, they let teachers make educational decisions on what is taught what day, they keep more consistency in their school with whatever curriculum they use, and they do not rule their district with fear. Therefore, if students come unprepared, the consistency and wisdom of educators help pull those students up to where they need to be because teacher have more authority to individualize and adjust curriculum to student needs. Teachers have their hands tied in PSD. I felt like I was in prison there with all their ridiculous demands (never a moment to just breath, even when walking down the hall, they wanted us drilling students, that was my moment to breath!). All day no lunch break, and if you dared walk across the room to get a plum out your lunch box and someone walked in, the asst. superintendent was there in your classroom checking up on you randomly for days after to make sure you were on task! I fianlly could not take the stress (even though I had good reviews and did my job), but because I tried to comply too much with all their ridiculous rules I had a nervous breakdown. They illegally fired me while on FMLA for not being at work (hello FMLA compliance!). Still wondering if I should file a lawsuit. However, our problems had more to do with an upper female administrator that oversaw the elementary school level.
