I am thinking about purchasing the Zombie Ball. I know how it works and I don't know what to think of it. I was wondering what everyone thinks of it. Do you like the illusion of the trick? Do you get a good response from the audiance? What are your comments about it? Thanks, Brad |

Zombie Ball is a classic. It can be mysterious it can be dramatic or it can be insanely funny if that fits your style. Sure a lot of exposure has perhaps given the public an inkling as to its method but skillfully handled its as good as they get. Keep the performance as short as reasonable because beyond that it becomes a yawn. Hopefully you will get a video with it to show some moves. Also there are newer version with a stongly curved gimmick and some new handling which is better than the original straight gimmick. |

Thanks for the help. I think that I will get it and a video. I was thinking about Tim Wright's Zombie Video. Do you know if this is a good one or if there is a better one? I want to find some advanced and impressive tricks. Thanks |

Hello Bard, I don't perform the Zombie Ball but I believe there is a fine Zombie Ball effect known as Losander's Zombie. Others may like to comment on this one. Some time back there was a demo video @ http://www.hocus-pocus.com/static/theatre_page.html Hope this helps. FROM INDIA WITH LOVE, Narndra |

It is Losanders Zombie which has the deeply curved gimmick and a new handling method for the foulard pick-up and set-down. |

I have decided that I am really going to purchase the Zombie Ball. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the ball falling off of the gimmic. Does that happen? how can you keep it from happening? Does any part of the ball or the gimmic wear out? Thanks |

The cork must not be smooth and it must be the size as manufactured by the vendor. I found the Losander was slightly less prone to pick up problems but practice is everything as shown by the videos of the masters. |

So, do you have to buy a new cork every so often? Does the cork wear down? Thanks |

I'm just curious I go to alot of Ren faires and see magic performed alot. Exactly how does the ball work? It looks like there might be some sort of strings attached or, sticks under the blanket. What is a "gimmick"? And where is the cork? |

My thought is that you'd do better to save your money for Losander's and Tommy Wonder's Ball. The effect has been elevated to puzzle even those familiar with the old zombie. www.losander.com is where it is and he has a video performance. http://amazingforums.com/forum2/MAGICKREAL/forum.html A forum for Magick |

I once got asked to do "that ball on a stick trick". That gives you an indication of how this effect is perceived. Most people know how it works but they like the way it looks. |
