Hi, I currently rebulding an Elan Sprint that at some point in ts life had an engine rebuild by Twn Cam Techniques. I cant find any nfo on ths company and wondered f anyone knew of them. I understand fro the prevous owner the engine was 'blueprnted'. The engne block has been repainted pale blue and a metal company name plate has been fixed to one of the cam covers. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Phil

Twin Cam Techniques was run by proprietor Tony Ingram and operated from premises at Dodwells Bridge Industrial Estate< Hincley Leicestershire. It gained a very good reputation for its work and in the early years this was confined mainly to engine rebuilds. As time went on they were to specialize in race engine preparation and their engines were amongst the top performers at the time.
Their work expanded into preparation of competion cars, mainly Lotus and Ginnetas and their offerings were successful in many classes. After a number of years the business was sold as a going concern and Tony Ingram moved to America. Sadly the wormanship of the new owners was not up to the previous standard and after a realatively short time the business closed. Tony Ingram went on to form a new company GB components which specilised in the production of obsolete parts and of course engine building and race car preparation. It continues today and they still build a lot of Twin Cam engines etc. They sell parts to the UK and use e-bay as a selling medium to this country. They can be contacted at www.gbcomponents.com
I trust this might be helpfull,
kim

Well done Kim, I knew some of the detail but certainly not as comprehensive as your reply! Thanks for the info I'm sure it will help him.
All the best, Tim.

Hi Kim, thank you so much for the information on Twin Cam Techniques. I will try to contact Tony via the web site you have given. My quandry now is whether to put the engine back into original colours or spec, or to keep it as is. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks once again. Will you be at the Classic Car Show? If you are I would love to have a chat about this. Many thanks, Phil

Hi Phil
I will be at the show on the LDC stand on Friday. If you miss me or are going another day then please feel free to give me a call on 01455 888293 after 6.00 pm. Anyone can have a standard Elan engine but only a few can have a genuine TCT engine, they were/are very well regarded by engine builders and those that "know". However the choice is yours, I hope you manage to get hold of Tony, when you try, mention my name as we go back a long way. I bought my first Elan of Tony!
Kim
