I read your online article recently about the "Golden Wedge of Ophir" and was impressed with the article. Being a Christian it is crucial that we understand how The covenants made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) pertain to everyone who is willing to follow the teachings of the Savior. I have been studying a book that talks about how the Lord called a prophet named Lehi in 600 B.C., to take his family and others who believed in God and flee from Jerusalem. His family was led by God to the American continent where their descendants lived for many generations. This record records that Jesus Christ, after he had ascended into heaven, appeared to these people. He taught the people the Gospel. While many believed these words, after a few generations those who did not believe fought against those that did believe. Those who believed were wiped out, but their record was preserved by the power of God. I would think that those Christians who believed in God and wanted some evidence of His love for all His children would want to read this book. It is called The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. If you don't believe that this is an ancient record of Israelites, then I challenge you to read it for yourself. |

The Book of Mormon huh? I didn't think you guys believed in Christ. So you're telling me that mormons believe ancient Israelites left Jerusalem and came to the American continent? Wasn't the Book of Mormon written by Joseph Smith or something like that? Something about a Gold bible? What about Christians like me who believe that the bible is the word of God and that it is complete? (See Revelations 22:18-19) Interested to see your response.... |

Yeah we do believe in Christ. He is our Savior and Redeemer. The Book of Mormon teaches about prophets in the New World who testify of his life and teachings. In response to your question about Revelations, it is important to keep in mind how the Bible was compiled. It was not a book that was complete right after the life of the Apostles. It was a fluid book that wasn't "canonized" until the later Church councils. Chronologically speaking, John received and wrote the Book of Revelation before he wrote the Book of John. Also, if that scripture is to be taken literally, then everything after Deuteronomy 4:2 where the Lord talks about adding to the word. Hope this clears up some of the questions you have. |

ooops, I forgot your question about the Gold bible. The prophets in the New World wrote on plates of brass, gold, etc... Joseph Smith was shown where one of these records was hidden by the last prophet. He was able to translate it by the gift and power of God. So... he didn't write it, he just translated it by the power of God. |

If Joseph Smith translated the book of morman through the Spirit of truth, why did he mistranslated the Sacred Name of our Heavenly Father as well as the Name of our Savior? He(Joseph Smith) came up with the same mistranslations of the Catholic church. This shows that the Solemn Spirit did not give him(Joseph Smith)devine interpretations because the Solemn Spirit knows fully well how to correctly transliterate these Names. The Solemn Spirit would not have come up with misnomers as did the Catholic church fathers. Jospeh Smith, along with anyone else that claims they translated these names by the Solemn Spirit that transliterates Jehovah and Jesus, is a false teacher. http://thetexasrat.webstarts.com/index.html |
