Marvin Guy Hileman was my grandfather and was born on 14 January 1901 in Kansas . His daughter Maxine Iladene Beckham nee Hileman is my mother. Marvin and Bessie Jewell Hileman nee Hale had two daughters, Maxine and Pauline Melinda Goings nee Hileman (Pauline died at an early age in 1967 due to brain tumors.) Marvin was the son of Martin Luther Hileman and Melinda Wells and had three siblings, Clarence, John , and Minnie. Marvin loved the life of a farmer and his last farm was a quarter section north east of Eakly, Ok. In 1967 he sold the farm and moved to Eakly. Soon after, he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to live with Maxine and Hubert Beckham. The last 20 years were not easy ones for Marvin. He lost both legs due to circulation problems and was bound to a wheel chair the last ten years. However, he remained an avid fisherman, even from the wheel chair. Marvin died at the age of 85 in May 1986 in Wichita Falls and was buried in the Eakly Cemetery, next to his wife, Bessie, and daughter, Pauline. Marvin was one of the founding fathers of the First Baptist Church in Eakly, Ok. He served in the Army during WWI, but never saw battle. The ship he was on to Europe, was directed to return to the U.S because the War was over. Marvin was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He is always thought of and missed. Maxine is visiting me in Stuttgart, Germany for Christmas (2006) and will be 80 next April 7th, 2007. Garry Beckham
