Recently I heard this 18 year old kid talking about the draft. He said "Let them put in the draft, I'll just go to Canada or Mexico" Let me tell you about this kid...He's a high school drop out, no job, and has been to court too many times to count. His favorite activity is partying. I st this "young man" straight real fast! First off, there is no draft (yet). Second, I can understand being scared...I have two sons that are of "draft age",,,and yes, I'm worried about them. I don't want them to die any more that I want anybody's children to die. But third, and most importantly, He is an American. The reason he was able to drop out of school, was the American freedom of choice. The reason he is not in jail is because of the American Justice System (good bad or indifferent) of a trial, not public stoning in the street, prison or whatever else could happen in another country. He has the freedom to wear two pounds of metal in his face and call it body art. He has the right to wear clothes that depict whatever mood or feeling he is having. That's called Freedom, buddy! That's called America! I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it...Old cliche, but oh so true. So I say, if you don't like your freedom, if you don't want to help defend that freedom, if you want to run away...Fine. Get the F*** out of my country. See if they treat you any better elsewhere. I'll buuy you a ticket to Afghanastan myself. See if they like your attitude there! |

Right on Mighty Jack!! I totally agree with you!! In fact, I'll help you pay for his ticket to Afganistan, after we give him a sex change operation. Let's see if he'd like to live there...and no less, like a woman!!! |

Jack, I agree with what you have to say, and by God, I'm glad someone said it. I am 20 years old, and I have registered for the selective service. I hate war, and would hate to have to fire a gun on another person, however, I am proud of my rights as an American. Although I am slightly afraid of being drafted if the need ever arose, I've already decided what I will tell the US Military if I am chosen. My skill lies in computers. I don't have the desire to travel to exotic countries and kill people, but I would be more than happy to help where my skills would be of real use. I will do alot to support America, however, I won't kill. http://www.aitrusdesigns.com/ Personal Site / Shared Content |
