This is the first thing I just have to ask. I've heard a rumor that there are some Florence police officers on leave with anger management problems and are taking anger management classes. Is this true? If so, how many? I've heard three. And, what are their names? Next, was this in the newspaper? If not, it certainly should have been. Lastly, are these officers going to return to duty here in Florence? I think the answer to that should be a big, NO! Why should we, the citizens of Florence have to deal with a person with an anger management problems? Especially a person in a professional position like a police officer. These guys should be the last people with anger management problems. Those officers should be fired, plain and simple!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will get the word out to my circle of friends and find out the truth of the matter and get back to this web site. You're right, we don't need police officers who cannot handle their anger. This can be down right dangerous when they are authorized to carry a gun.

I checked out these allegations and they are indeed correct. We need to start a coalition of concerned citizens to watch out for further abusive situations and keep an eye on our police department. They seem to be running rampant without any checks or balances. Since my investigation into this I have learned from far too many citizens here that the police department's only concern is to get as many traffic citations as possible. This type of behavior gives a person a sense of power which can lead to anger problems.

I agree with you 100% and my only question is how do we go about this? I do have concerns about becoming a target along with anyone else who has the courage to come forward. I can tell you this, the police chief either has no control over his officers, doesn't care about their actions or both. I'll tell you why. This is completly true because I know the individual personally. This individual had a problem with some of Florence's finest (Florence PD) and went to discuss this with the chief. The chief told him to "watch out" because the officers had a "vendetta" against him. Now, if the chief knew this, which was obvious, why didn't he say, "whoa, were police officers, we don't do this" The fact that he did nothing tells me that not only did he know this but encouraged it! There has to be some upper level agency we can get involved, maybe the entire Florence Police Department needs to be investigated. Lastly, I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'm willing to bet everything I own that Officer Conner is one if those out with anger management problems.

Sounds to me like the Chief is a big problem.
