Please contact me directly at Firstmdus@comcast.net for detailed information or answers to specific questions. However, you will find our "recreated" page says we fall in the authentic category. Many of our members have the absolute best equipment; some even have a bit of real historical equipment. I myself have a mixture of upper mainstream and so called hard core with a few smaller real items. Others, mostly newer members with lighter wallets have mostly better quality mainstream equipment. As those members mature in the hobby, they generally acquire better things. In the end, what truly matters to us is the quality and standards of our camp appearance and drill. It really doesn’t help to have a +$500 sack coat if you have no intention of actually sleeping on the ground, eating something cooked over a fire, or doing the drill correctly. All the coat tells me is that you have a rich daddy or a good credit card. Our "links" and “recruit” pages have links to common local vendors many of our members have used (not necessarily the best). However, as vendors and their wares change often we try not to pigeon hole so called preferred vendors (unless that vendor wants to give me a substantial discount/fee for my advertising :-) Instead, we go shopping with new recruits and show them exactly what you get for your money and try to point them to the best things they can afford. Education is the secret to making a good impression, not a fly by night name brand or fad.
