Hello, found your sight while looking for information on Purnell's Legion. My Great Great Grandfather, William Busler, enlisted 09/24/1861 in Company F Purnell's Legion. 10/21/64 he was transferred to Company F of the 1st Maryland and remained until he was musterd out on 07/02/1865. It's nice to see a unit dedicated to keeping their memory alive and honoring their sacrifice.

Thanks for contacting us. Have you considered coming out to one of our events? We would be happy to meet another descendant of a Maryland volunteer. Also, you might want to check out the post by Phyllis O'Brien on Capt Reynolds. Capt Reynold was your ancestor's company commander. I believe she left a contact email address.

Please note I have spoken to William Shifflett. He did not write the obscene remarks. Apparently, someone is trying to smear his name. So, do not bother him. In addition, being that these forums are independent of the 1st Maryland website or 1st Maryland control, it seems I cannot remove it.Whoever did write the remark, please note this is a family forum in which children can read and post. Please grow up.
