Hey guys I am writing to you because I have been thinking about reinacting for some years and I have a couple of questions. The first on is how do you get involved? How do you go about picking a unit? What all is involved behind the scens like is there any training, classes, meetings, etc.? another thing is the equipment, how does that work? where do you go and i assume the others in the unit help out. Another thing deals with the groups; can you be appart of several reinacting groups from the same side? do members really care?

Hello, you sent a message to the 1st Maryland vol infantry about reenacting a bit ago. I was checking back over old messages and realized you may have not been responded too. Sorry about that if it is the case. 1) Get involved: join a unit. We are always looking for new people. If interested go to our recruit/join page.2) Training: we do regular drills exactly as the real soldiers did. You will find some units are better than others at this. We pride ourself in our drill quality.3) You are responsible for your own equipment, however, we can guide you thru the process and do have some loaner stuff.4) multiple groups?: Yes, however, it is generally considered good manners to have a principle unit in which you will fall in with when both units are on the same field (and both units understand where they stand). Also, many people do multiple time periods. EJ Nash, 1st Maryland Vol infantry
