What truly is the point in being born, in living and then dying? I believe the point is loving exploration of self, of others, of our maker - God. Look at the universe and all the things in it that God created. It never ceases to amaze us and provide new discoveries and wonders everday. The possibilities seem endless. When we were created in God's image, we were created to explore the infinite universe - explore the possiblities - get to know, love, understand and care for the many other unique persons that live upon this earth - know God - know nature - KNOW. Worth can not be found in simply limiting ourselves to wealth or trophies - possessions or accomplishments - or even the sum total of friends we made in this life. Worth is found in our exploration of the endless possiblities for life, love, joy, knowledge/wisdom, peace, kindness, beauty. While exploring we must respect the needs and feelings of others and the sacredness of life - so as not to destroy the unique creatures/creations/beings of this world. We must love beyond our supposed capacity for love. We must give beyond our means. We must believe in others when they can not believe in themselves. We must seek after that which is not seen and not understood -FAITH. We must have HOPE for a new tomorrow, another chance, a new beginning. We must infuse beauty into our lives and the lives of others and treasure the beauty that is all around us. We must learn to look on the inside of the person to see who they really are. If what we see is darkness and pain, we must love them still. I believe that FAITH, HOPE and LOVE are the driving purposes of our existence - F-H-L for God, for others, for nature, for creation, for discovery and exploration, for beauty, for restoration and renewal, for life here and beyond. |

You are right. And so is the person that totally disagrees with you. In my belief, life is a divine creation in which all people can choose their own design, their own route. Hopefully one would choose a path that leads themselves and others nearer to enlightenment. I believe that faith and love are indescribable, indefinable words, and for a very good reason. I believe that these emtions are things that we don't understand because they are the very beginnning of something undiscovered within ourselves. Faith is found - under a lot of different terms - in most all religion and all spiritual belief. Faith connects us all with something distant and incomprehendable. In total and complete faith in something, there is total and complete surrender. There is nothing other than your total and undying belief that something unseeable and unknowable (by our terms at present) exists. This frees us from our egos and lets our SELFs roam free. Our kind is aware of something that it cannot explain. We all feel it in our own ways - our fear of death, our belief in God, our constant yearning to shed light on the dark and expose the unknown. There is something we all can't see and don't understand - and we all satisfy that confusion in our own ways. http://yourmind.makes.it |

both "L" and Mic have excellent things to say. I'm just getting started in this thing called interactive-something-or-other. NOT making light at all and I realize I'm not even speaking on the subject.I think we were talking about surrender. thats quite a scary word for me. I am continually (once in a while) when I manage to listen to what God might be trying to communicate to me. I think it is an exellent thing to surrender to God. Every one has their own "picture" of God. So I'm not interested in limiting you to MY picture of God. Surrender. Letting go. Thats one of the hardest things for me to do. Maybe THE hardest. I remember about 15 yrs ago a girlfriend said to me she was praying for me to surrender to God. I thought I already was. I'v been led aroune all over the place, thinking I was surrendered to God. I don't know. But God is beyond my comprehension in His ability to wait and love regardless of what I do. I really like God. Surrender. Letting go. Thats all I can think of it as right now. |
