Jesus' death represents the ultimate sacrifice for us. We no longer have to sacrifice animals for forgiveness because Jesus is the ultimate lamb which was used to give us forgiveness for all the people in the past, present, and future. If Jesus had called the angels to give Him food and shelter, if He had called them to take Him away from His pain on the cross, then we could not say He lived as a man to share our same feelings and hurts and still wanted to sacrifice Himself for us. We are the very same people who threw rocks and stones at Him, called Him false names, and He still wanted to be our ultimate sacrifice. |
