Looking forward to another year of hunting for art in SLP Parks!
william hessian posted 6/1/09 3:18 AM
me too. the start is only a few days
away!
Joanne posted 6/3/09 5:44 PM
Looking forward to Day One tomorrow!
We'll be out of town this weekend, bummer... hope there are still some left when we return!
Happy Hunting Everyone!
william hessian posted 6/4/09 6:26 AM
for those new to the hunt (per an email
i have received) the first batch of
clues are the least revealing, and they
become progressively more helpful each
round.
the longer the hunt, the easier the
clues. check back often. and good luck.

william! these chubby creatures are my FAVORITE miniature painti929475ngs so far! i have loved all of them, but these guys take the cake! great work!
Joanne posted 6/4/09 5:54 PM
Patrick and his friend Ellie and I were busy at Jorvig, Justand, and Willow Parks today... we'll need to go back we looked pretty quickly!
heather posted 6/4/09 9:45 PM
well, we just got back from peeking around birchwood and webster parks. we are empty handed as of right now, but it's already so fun to be looking again! the boys are all excited! thanks for all the time and energy you put into this year after year!
william hessian posted 6/5/09 7:38 AM
thanks heather and joanne. I am loving
the pictures being sent in. The first
artwork was found, by Camille Schlegel
(a past artwork finder). Keep sending
in those pictures, and I love hearing
about your adventures.

John (age 8) Meyer has found art in his PJ's this AM at Oak Hill Park. He missed his bus for school, but it was all worth it!
Joanne posted 6/5/09 1:32 PM
Clue#6 was the one John found at Oak Hill this AM!
Joanne posted 6/5/09 2:27 PM
William - on the website is "clue #2" found or "clue #4" for Camille? You've got two different pics labeled for Camille.
Thanks
william hessian posted 6/6/09 1:26 AM
sorry joanne. mistake on my part with
Camille's photo. mistake has been
fixed, and all should be clear.
what amazing hunting this year... 4
found within the first three days. Some
without even one clue posted (like Liza
at the beehive park) or using only the
"difficult" clues.
i applaud the effort so far this year!
Joanne posted 6/6/09 11:56 AM
If we were not in Duluth today, I think we'd be searching in Fern Hill and Jersey Parks for fun!
Joanne posted 6/6/09 11:59 AM
John says "way to go Ashton" from our laptop here in Duluth!
Heather it is your turn now!!!!!!
And you too Mark!

Will there be any more clues posted today?
heather posted 6/6/09 10:51 PM
the boys and i were out in the rain today. we had a lot of fun pretending to be pirates searching for treasure. we looked at minnekhada vista (is that how you spell that word!?) and the lost park. we also looked around cute little sunshine park for fun. the five year olds are really into it, and it has been fun to see them so excited about it. congratulations to you all who have found the artwork so far.....our group will have to keep looking.....
william hessian posted 6/7/09 3:45 AM
each batch of clues are posted around
midnight of each day. sometimes they
are posted early. I am performing an
art battle at Red Hot Arts Festival
yesterday and today, therefore clues
are posted a little before scheduled
times.
the second batch of clues will also
feature the medium clues for those
already found art. I will continue to
reveal easier clues even for the FOUND
art simply to reveal the hidden
location.
good luck with the remaining 6
Skyler posted 6/8/09 1:53 AM
We were at Twin Lake Park on Saturday in the rain looking for the art piece and we couldn't find one. When the next clue came out we knew exactly where it was in Twin Lake Park. After three years of hunting for art pieces we finally found one Sunday morning.
heather posted 6/8/09 3:37 AM
CONGRATULATIONS!! you deserve to find one!
Joanne posted 6/8/09 12:45 AM

We found the location of clue 18, but it is no longer there. Missing?
Joanne posted 6/9/09 8:02 PM
Skylar was at Clue #18 at 6:00 AM Tuesday and it was there... Heather was there at 8:30 AM and it wasn't there!
HMMMMMM who has it?!
Joanne posted 6/9/09 10:46 PM
I'm very intrigued by Clue 16...
I've done quick looks at Carlson Field, Paul Frank Field...
I know people have hunted at Rotary, Skippy, and Dakota for this clue...
I might need to go look at "Dale Petit Field" also known as Ellie Park and Watertower Park !! Maybe it is not on a score board!
Joanne posted 6/10/09 0:56 AM
We had an evening of hunting no luck oh well... We enjoy our yearly visit to a tiny park called Cedarhurst, every year the cotton trees make it seem like it is snowing there! Drove by Hampshire Park which use to be a really tiny old park now it is just a green space. We were also at Browndale and Minikahda Vista tonight. And not that anyone cares but we drove past quite a few today --- quest for art... can't beat it on the last day of school! Tomorrow maybe a stroll around Bass Lake and the Bass Lake Park.
william hessian posted 6/10/09 1:44 AM
only three chubby creatures left to
find! great hunting again!
i will make sure that at there is at
least one clue each remaining day until
the three are found. meaning, there is
at most only 9 days of clues left.
i will also post the remaining FOUND
clues so you can all see the locations
of the found art.
Cant wait to see you all at the awards
ceremony. I am excited to see who finds
the last three.
william hessian posted 6/10/09 1:47 AM

actually 4 left!

Four left - Clues (10,20) Clues (5,16) Clues (3,13) and Clues (9, 19)
Hope I have those matches right...
I get so confused.
I'm going to use Facebook now for help!
heather posted 6/10/09 2:27 AM
ohh man! this is getting exciting. we went to eight parks today, and i think we must be walking past those fun chubby creatures! we shall not quit, and we must persevere tomorrow!!

Love the pics tonight!
william hessian posted 6/11/09 5:01 AM
great hunting and hunters this year.
only two remain. tough ones. although i
thought all of them were hard this year.
Joanne posted 6/11/09 5:38 AM
It is after midnight, going into Thursday here... and someone needs to lock me up! I really thought I knew where Clue 23 was - so I've been to Blackstone, Jersey, and Ford Parks with the moon giving me some light but then the sprinklers turned on by Blackstone by those townhouses and I knew I should call it a night or a morning! WHERE is that one!?
Joanne posted 6/11/09 5:51 AM
Insanity has set in must go now to Aquila and Roxbury... hmmmm.... 1:00AM on Thursday!
Joanne posted 6/11/09 6:37 AM
Sorry for all the posts...
Now I'm thinking Edgebrook, Aquila still, or Bass Lake... Now I will go to sleep as it is nearing two AM!
Sammy posted 6/11/09 3:23 PM
Been looking all around town and getting scared because there is just 2 left! I would really love finding one because i have never heard of the art hunt before and i am really enjoying it so far... except for the fact i must bike to every park. It is worth it!
Joanne posted 6/11/09 5:04 PM
I am all wrong... Heather you are a trooper!!!!!!!!!!
heather posted 6/11/09 5:05 PM
i am SO sad!! we just found the location of clue #16, but it is not there!
so i think there is only one left....unless that little fella is gone too. we have been SOOO close so many times this hunt, but no chubby creature!
well, we will keep looking until the last one is found!

we were at Jersey Park this morning at 11:20. we
are CERTAIN this is where clues 3, 13 and 23 were
photographed. but the artwork was already gone!
yesterday, we were at Browndale and missed that
one, too. there's always next year! thanks, william
for making such a fun art hunt for all the kids and
families!

Great job William it was fun...
I've been to Shelard, Meadowbrook, Jackly, Bass Lake today. I'm hoping all are found so I can focus again on reality!
I too think that Jersey Park is the one for Clue 13, etc but I've never been able to find the wood! Looked like the city was doing work on the picnic shelter there. HMMMM
Time will tell!
heather posted 6/11/09 7:10 PM
i agree with the others, william, it was a very fun hunt this year! we ended up going to a lot of parks we have not been to in the past, and all of my boys really had fun exploring! many thanks for all of your effort and hard work, not to mention creativity!!
Skyler posted 6/11/09 8:44 PM
Thanks for the art hunt William this year was the BEST!!!
Lina posted 6/11/09 9:30 PM
Where is the location of clue 16 heather? Just curious because that one looked tough...
charlie and jen posted 6/11/09 10:10 PM     Click here to send email to charlie and jen
It was absolutely Jersey Park. We found the wood and
the shelter and blue slides were in the background --
but someone beat us to it. Can't wait to see who it
was.
