I am looking for any information I can get on the Bentz families who lived in Gregory County, South Dakota. A specific individual I am working on right now is Alma May Bentz who probably was in late teens or early twentys in 1936. I have her photo in my mother's photo album but have not been able to tie her in to the family. Any clues regarding this family would be appreciated. They came to South Dakota directly from Neudorf, S. Russia (they were Germans who settled in Russia at the invitation of Catherine the Great). |

George Fredrich Bentz is my great great grandfather. He and his sons came to Gregory Co. S Dak in the 1880's from Neudorf S. Russsia. Some of his sons came to North Dakota to homestead in early 1900's. One of his sons(George) married Rosina Jenner and raised a family in the Oliver Co. area of ND. Heis my grandfather. I am interested in knowing if there is any family connection with the Bentz's in Pa. My research indicaates that S Dak Bentzes came from the Wurtemberg area in Germany before migrating to Russia and that they my have used the name"BENZ". Who can |

I am looking for relatives/info of my Great Great Grandparents Phillip BENTZ b. 1868 in Neudorf and Eva (MARTZOLF) BENTZ b.1870. It appears they immigrated from Neudorf in 1892 and ended up in Anoka, NE where my Great Grandma Karolina BENTZ b. 1897 and others were born. Phillip and Eva ended up passing away in Gregory County, SD as well as many of their children. My Great Grandma Karoline (BENTZ) PRITCHETT passed away in Gilroy, CA 1972. |

If I have things figured out correctly, your Phillipp Bentz lived next door to my Grandfather, Peter Thurstenson with the Valley Scene (Dist. #58) school between them. In addition, I would be kin to Bentz through my mother. |
