Hello. In a "local history mood" and with some free time, I ran a google search on "John Oberdier" and came across this site, in which he is featured in a page in which its author states he (she?) would like additional information. I ran the search because I grew up in a now-227 year old stone farm house in northern Dover township (York County) that features a center stone in which a John Oberdier carved his name and those of his family -- he'd built the home in 1779. If you think this might be the same Oberdier you're looking for, please don't hesitate to email me and I'll be happy to pass on what I know, as well as the location of the home. All the best,Aaron Dialbismarck1@comcast.net

Hello Aaron,I was excited to see your post about the Oberdier Family. I am doing genealogy research and have an ancestor Johan Martin Oberdier b. (Unknown) and died May 13, 1813 in Dover Twp. PA. He married Eva Fronica Spaar about 1749 in York County. They had a daughter Ester who had a daughter Lydia who had a son Jonas who was my Great-Great-Grandfather. I live in southern NJ and am planning a trip to visit York County PA the end of this week to do research to try and validate my information. Anything you can add would be greatly appreciated! I would love to see the farm house you grew up in.Kind Regards, Lorraine HeblerBelow is a copy of your original post:Hello.
