We have about 10-15 people a week asking for internships, a large percentage of them are Full Sail students like yourself. We do not employ any interns for our regular sessions, we have a full time recording assistant on staff. We can accomodate interns provided that they refer clients. We can gaurantee you a internship for the clients you refer. It's a great opportunity. If you would like to do this contact us. Thanks, Nathan Chief Engineer/Producer & Studio Owner http://www.atlasrecording.com Atlas Recording & Mastering, Inc. [This message has been edited on 10/07/2003] |

I would seek a different line of work. After investing close to a million in equipment and after 23 years of hundreds of projects, it has all but gone to the home hacker and hacker mastering as well.I feel you wasted your money at Full Sail and basically, it is time to collect equipment and do thinks at home and live venues. Large scale studios are dropping like flys. I had 1 million (close to it) of equipment on ebay for 30K and not a bite. Even the dash 48 was a part of the package. It is all a dead issue..and so is the recording industry due to MP3s and hackers.Get a hackie..I mean Mackie, some bull crap speakers, and be a pro. That is where the money is. |

A negative attitude never got anybody anywhere. Crappy quality is not becoming popular, affordability is. Just because a large format studio doesn't do well, doesn't mean good records will no longer be made. The tools for building a good record are now easily available to anyone with a good set of ears and a moderate budget. The MP3 kick in the pants is quite possibly the best thing for this industry - forcing a change. I'm not talking about lawsuit after lawsuit getting thrown upon downloaders, I'm talking about Engineers and Artists taking new steps away from the "Big Three" way of making records. Talent is everywhere, one simply needs to record it. By the way: I do not steal music, nor do I support those who do. I am a freelance Engineer who simply likes to make records and help artists reach their artistic goals. Maybe if we all stopped blaming our problems on the public we could move on and make our industry better. |
