Hi Bernard. - 1) In the securities window push the "Add" button. 2) Write the name: Heritage Financial Group in the name field, and in the import id field you write: HBOS -Then press save button. 3) In the portfolio window you can now record a buy of Heritage Financial Group shares. 4) When you import prices, the latest price for HBOS will be downloaded, and the price will update the value of your portfolio.

thanks Michael for getting back with your answer. reading my first post i am contious that i posted more out of fraustion, without trying hard enough to work through which i am tryinh to do now, printing off the help and stapling in help groups should help to stop me getting so confused, sometimes for example (import more securities) (securities edit add) looks same but big differences. i have uninstalled the first install and reinstalled in order to clear any anything that i may have tried in last install that maybe caused me to get errors. so starting afresh and reading help more carefully, and even recording your video on dictaphone so that i dont hace to switch from the current window,(wish i had multilayer memory), will get there in the end and as i like your software and have even more trouble setting up my own excel spreadsheet that should give me the incintive.i have a busy day with other things,so will have to take at own pace, and will get back to you if need any furthur help. bernard

your suggestion worked of course, i also abandoned HBOS and just used LLuyd Banking Group (the bank that took over HBOS and that worked equally well, of course as the the buying n selling prices are historic i used "manual" because i did not want the historic ajusted by any current price. there is one other point, in the price entered for instance £5.7074 the program ajusted to £7.71. that is not a problem for shares of that value, but for FSTE AIM market penny shares where a price maybe £0.0345 i do see a problem can i adjust decimal spaces? and currency £ or $ signs for cash?

Hi Bernard. - It is an error, that 3 or more decimals are converted to 2. It will be fixed in the comming release. It should be possible to enter more than 2 decimals. In listings however most likely only 2 will be shown, but if you edit the field again, the correct amount of decimals are available - and also used in calculations. - I'm not sure what you mean about the currency sign ? Currency sign should not be entered - as they are determined / set in the securities register, where you can choose to set up a security in different currencies.
