Dear Batchmates and friends....serious talk ta naman bagya kening thread a ini ne? Looking back after 47 years, I have learned the following 47 practical and wise words of wisdom. Sometimes I learned my lessons the hard way. Can you share one, two or as many as you can too? Please make sure that they are your personal guiding principles okay? Here goes my list of 47 things I've learned in life -- that is, one for every year of my life on earth...
1. To err is human, to forgive is divine.
2. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
3. Every trial in life is also an opportunity for growth.
4. Either you control your bad attitude or it controls you.
5. The right decisions are also the hardest ones to make.
6. Never act on impulse, take time to weigh your options.
7. Looking before jumping is not such a bad idea after all.
8. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
9. When you say, "I am sorry," look the person in the eye.
10. Meekness is not a weakness; it is strength under control.
11. In disagreements, argue fairly. No yelling and name calling.
12. Resolving conflict real soon is better than avoiding it forever.
13. We are not here for our own enjoyment but to impact others.
14. Beware of the easy way; you might end up the hard way later.
15. Accept people for who they are, not who you want them to be.
16. Gossip kills. The tongue is sharper than a double-bladed dagger.
17. Get the facts from both sides before you make a final judgment.
18. We are responsible for what we do, no matter how good we feel.
19. Find someone to love and live as if it were your last day on earth.
20. Live an honorable life. When you get older, you will be glad you did.
21. Know when to be serious, but remember to have humor and fun too.
22. Only one life it will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.
23. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
24. The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.
25. Make the best out of every situation, complaining only makes it worse.
26. Better is poverty with contentment than riches without peace of mind.
27. The three most boring words in any conversation are – I, me and mine.
28. Lend a helping hand whenever possible, you will need help someday too.
29. When you fail, learn a lesson from it. Adversity is the mother of character.
30. Time is more precious than gold; when you lose it you can never recover it.
31. Great accomplishments were born out of great sacrifices. No pain, no gain.
32. Impressive credentials on your wall do not make you a decent human being.
33. Problems are like shadows. Turn your back on them and they will follow you.
34. Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
35. You cannot control what others think, say or do; only what you think, say or do.
36. Being kind is oftentimes better than being right. Win an argument, lose a friend.
37. Talk slowly, think wisely, and hear swiftly. A second expert opinion is always wise.
38. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who do not have dreams do not have much.
39. Spend some time reflecting alone. It will do you more good than constant socializing.
40. Every job you perform is a portrait of yourself. Autograph your work with excellence.
41. Silence is sometimes the best answer. Do not let your mouth get ahead of your head.
42. Love deeply and passionately. You may get hurt but it is the only way to live life fully.
43. Read more books and watch less TV. Television (Tel-Evil-Sion) is often the devil’s vision.
44. The people who will hurt you most in life are not your enemies but the ones you loved most.
45. Life is so much simpler when you tell the truth. When you lie, you will need to remember everything.
46. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
47. Beware of dogs. No smoking. Drink moderately. Unauthorized persons keep out. Your credit is good but we need cash!

I learned this one from a friend of mine here in United States...he's a black guy...my very first real friend here...he's a smart guy and I learned a lot from him. He's the one who trained me become a good press operator back when we're still at Press Gazette:
"WORK SMARTER THAN HARDER"

Kapatads....this is something that encourages me in my life... "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS NAME THEM ONE BY ONE". Now, I challenge you to get a piece of paper and a pen so you can list yours. You'll be surprised how many blessings you have received.

Here are my philosophy in life.
